Summer is right around the corner. Time to let the housework go and focus on the outside. Mulching the flower beds, planting the garden, mowing, taking on a new project and don't forget killing snakes (Sorry but I cant stand a snake).
Speaking of projects I got a cool one in mind for my photography!
Summer seems to dry out the spring rains and brings on new life on its own. The plants that thrive and bloom in a dryer season come out and show us their beauty. I love the wavy lines from the heat you see in the distance, hearing the pool water splash on its own, and the sound of waves slapping the boat from another at the river.
I feel energized in the summer. Its the chance to eat outside, invite friends over, and have a cold drink. Vegetables are abundant in the garden and sometimes you just go and pick some things for a dinner salad. Feels great to eat something you grew.
Kids are outside giggling playing in the sprinkler and hubby is shaking his head at the water wasted. That ahhh feeling when you step into a pool that is still a little cool. That feeling when you bury your feet in the sand. The truck stays washed more than it normally does just to get outside. Spraying down the kids with the water hose when they don't expect it. Never noticing the summer sting on my skin because the over spray.
The days seem to last so long and seem to slow down. I like that. Riding in a convertible at night slowly. Looking up, wondering if the universe just goes on forever and feeling like the ones that are gone are looking down on you. Closing your eyes and letting the wind just blow your hair. Summer sting on my skin from riding all afternoon and into the night with the top down.
The summer sting is not only a burn it is a reminder of a season that friends seem to come together. Friends; the kind you don't want to do without. Get out the SPF, summer is coming...Until then
Keep Rockin
