One of the things I was taught was to always introduce myself professionally. I do forget time to time to personally do it but for the most part I try to remember. I was a bill collector many many moons ago and found an advantage by befriending the other bill collectors around because most of the time we were looking for the same person. Plus I met some pretty cool people along the way, some I am still friends with today.
I decided to have a photographer's mixer and introduce myself to all of the other professionals in the area. Some old timers, some new comers, and some in the middle. I will definitely be humbled in the presence of so many great professionals. I think it is a great opportunity to meet everyone and maybe even find a few people for my army. I am ready to build it. None the less it will be awesome to finally put some faces with names.
I was shocked at how many photographers I never heard of. There are some tucked away in the small corners of West Tennessee. You think there are so many how in the world can you ever make it. Then I think of how many dog gone lawyers offices are in downtown Jackson! They all have their own strategies. There are some people just go to because they trust them, some that people can afford, and some just people go to because they are convenient. I want to be the lawyer they love. The lawyer that rocks.
I am sure all the lawyers talk and maybe they have lawyer parties too. Why would they not talk to each other? I dont think it is a big secret what everyone is doing and I really hope it is the beginning to some really great friendships.
I tried to find a song about photographers mixers with no luck, but I did find a good one about the law . You may thank me for the jam...Until then
Keep Rockin
