There is no such thing as an original idea. The basis of any idea came from somewhere. Something you saw, maybe something you hear, emotion you felt or something you experienced could be the start of a great idea.
In Jr. High white Keds were the big thing. Everyone had Keds, everyone wanted to be exactly the same. We all had flybacks. The same. Everyone wore acid washed jeans. The same. I had naturally curly hair so flybacks didn't do too well, we didn't have a lot of money so my jeans were not exactly acid washed jeans but I did want Keds though. I bought bright pink Keds. I was still up to date but with a twist.
I like to take things I hear, see, witness, throw it in a blender for a couple of seconds and see what comes out. I see a lot of ideas with a twist. I honestly think Lady Gaga is Alice Cooper made over. Nothing wrong with that. She didn't "steal" any ideas from Alice Cooper. She simply took his stage performance and put it in a blender...sometimes I wonder if she literally threw it in a blender. We hear it all the time in music. Why cant we see it in everything else?
Everything is a potential idea to me. Idea for photography, idea for an adventure, idea for a blog post. Someone once told me I notice everything. I like that. I want to notice everything. You may see an idea in a different way. Tell someone or show them your ideas and don't be discouraged if someone comes up with a twist, build on it and take your ideas further. Just remember to plug the blender up, use it and don't be afraid! Remember imitation is the highest form of flattery...Until then
Keep Rockin
