Taking portraits, dropping guerilla art, thinking of ways to change the world and BAM everything goes back to reality. Why does that happen? I hate the fact that I cant live in my
la-la land all the time. I think my health would be better for sure.
I was off for a week due to a pulled muscle, pinched nerve they really don't know. Still in a lot of pain but when someone asks I say I am fine. I mean I don't want to sound like a big whiny baby all the time. Does anybody really listen anyway? When someone asks, Is there anything I can do? Do they really mean it? Yeah come paint my garage is what I want to say!(stole that from the late George Carlin).
Someone told me once that most people (almost all people) are not listening to you while you talk at all. They are constantly thinking of how they are going to respond instead of listening or wanting to "top" your story. I have carried on "conversations" with these types of people before. Your talking about how the light hits the edge of the trees and how beautiful it is and they start talking about their gall bladder. I have talked to a bunch of people like this.
I honestly believe if we all slowed down and listened, I mean really listen to each other or what someone has to say we all might learn something or experience what it is like to walk in a person's shoes. Maybe they are crying for help. Maybe they just want to be heard too. I need to do it more often, especially to my children.
Are you listening? I mean really listening or are you thinking? It might be good if we did both...Until then
Keep Rockin
I totally agree, I like and agree with your message
ReplyDeleteThx FAQ!
ReplyDeleteWell, I for one hope that your arm heals soon. I want to see some of the ideas you conjured up while laying on the couch. BTW, I do both the listening and the planning the next conversation... it depends on who is talking at the time.
ReplyDeleteI am much better Kelly and you know this noggin was in overtime! I wont lie sometimes I have good intentions of listening and then I start...oh something shiny
